Saving schools £1 million

Following a detailed discussion with the DfE last summer regarding monetary savings within schools and academies, the team at Zenergi promised to start a brand new SOS campaign ‘Save our Schools £1 million’ on their energy bills. Although this process is carried out as part of Zenergi’s normal service, the actual collective amount of money saved had historically not been recorded. So from September 2013, each and every energy supply invoice that was validated, or, new energy contract that was arranged through Zenergi, was scrupulously analysed to identify any area of overcharging whether directly through suppliers, or local authority led schemes.

Graham Cooke, Managing Director of Zenergi, said, “It was a large and bold statement to tell the DfE we would help assist them in their quest to save £50 million and to be honest I didn’t expect we would do it so quickly; but as of the end of July 2014 – in only 10 months, we have already managed to save our clients a massive £1,099,787 off of their energy bills!”
